Dr Friedman is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and medical director of an affiliated dialysis unit. Dr Friedman trained at Tufts University and the US Department of Agriculture-Human Nutrition Research Center in Boston before joining Indiana University. Dr Friedman has published dozens of articles, editorials, and book chapters on topics related to the overlap between nutrition and kidney disease and has received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health, NKF, and other institutions. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Renal Nutrition and Frontiers in Nephrology and has played a leadership role at the American Society of Nephrology and the American Association of Kidney Patients.
